Fire-rated ceilings in East Sussex
Fire-rated ceilings across East Sussex: free survey, fixed written quote, and fitting out of hours if the building is in use. A fire-rated ceiling is a tested ceiling system that holds back fire for a stated time, usually 30 or 60 minutes, protecting either the void above or the structure.
Fire-rated ceilings for East Sussex buildings
Near the water at Hastings, damp air shortens the life of standard tiles and grid in some rooms; humidity-resistant tiles and corrosion-resistant grid last longer. In older buildings in Hastings we check void depths, window heads and the asbestos register before setting a new ceiling height.
Typical fire-rated ceilings jobs we price in East Sussex include damp-prone rooms in coastal buildings, ceilings in older buildings with low window heads, clinic and surgery refurbishments. East Sussex is in the South East, around 152 miles from our Birmingham base on average.

Questions people ask
Do you cover all of East Sussex?
Yes. We take on fire-rated ceilings across East Sussex, including Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings, and nearby areas such as West Sussex, Kent and Surrey.
Will a ceiling cope with damp air near the coast at Hastings?
In damp areas we use humidity-resistant tiles and better-protected grid, and check ventilation is doing its job.
Who decides if we need a fire-rated ceiling?
Your fire strategy, fire engineer or Building Control. We can quote to their specification and point out where a tested system will meet it.
Can I put normal light fittings in a fire-rated ceiling?
Only if the system allows it, usually with fire hoods or protected fittings. Unprotected openings can void the rating.
