Metal tile ceilings
Metal ceilings use powder-coated steel or aluminium tiles, either lay-in or clip-in, often perforated with an acoustic fleece behind. They are hard-wearing, wipeable and give a crisp, architectural finish.

How we do it
Clip-in metal tiles hide the grid entirely and hinge down for access, which suits receptions, transport buildings and high-end offices. Lay-in metal tiles drop into a standard exposed grid and are a cheaper way to get a metal finish.
Perforations plus an acoustic fleece let a metal ceiling absorb sound almost as well as mineral fibre. Plain metal tiles suit kitchens and wash areas where cleaning matters more than acoustics.

Questions people ask
Are metal ceilings noisy?
Plain metal tiles reflect sound. Perforated tiles with an acoustic fleece absorb it well, so specify perforated where speech or noise matters.
Can metal tiles be removed for access?
Yes. Lay-in tiles lift out like mineral fibre; clip-in and hinged systems drop down on hinges or are released with a tool.
Why do metal ceilings cost more?
The tiles themselves cost more, they are often made to order, and clip-in systems take longer to set out and fit.
