Acoustic ceilings in Cornwall
Our teams carry out acoustic ceilings in Truro and Newquay and across the rest of Cornwall. An acoustic ceiling uses high-absorption tiles, and sometimes denser backing, to cut echo inside a room and stop speech travelling over partitions into the next one.
Acoustic ceilings for Cornwall buildings
For surgeries and clinics around Truro we phase ceiling work room by room so appointments can carry on. Coastal and waterside buildings in Newquay see more humidity in the air, so we look closely at moisture-resistant tiles and better-protected grid near entrances and wet areas.
Typical acoustic ceilings jobs we price in Cornwall include clinic and surgery refurbishments, damp-prone rooms in coastal buildings. Cornwall is in the South West, around 204 miles from our Birmingham base on average.
What the job includes

- Schools designed to Building Bulletin 93 targets
- Void barriers and over-lays where partitions stop at ceiling height
- Room-to-room attenuation (Dn,f,w) quoted in dB
Questions people ask
Do you cover all of Cornwall?
Yes. We take on acoustic ceilings across Cornwall, including Truro and Newquay, and nearby areas such as Devon, South Wales and Somerset.
Do you work in clinics and surgeries in Truro?
Yes. We use wipe-clean tiles where needed and phase work so clinics can stay open.
What is the difference between NRC and αw?
Both describe sound absorption. NRC is an American average; αw is the European rating that gives the A–E class used on UK datasheets. Compare tiles using the same measure.
Will acoustic tiles stop noise from the office next door?
Only if they are chosen for attenuation as well as absorption. Many high-absorption tiles are light and let sound through. If privacy between rooms is the issue we look at denser tiles or a void barrier above the partition line.
