Acoustic ceilings in Merseyside
Our teams carry out acoustic ceilings in Liverpool, St Helens and Birkenhead and across the rest of Merseyside. An acoustic ceiling uses high-absorption tiles, and sometimes denser backing, to cut echo inside a room and stop speech travelling over partitions into the next one.
Acoustic ceilings for Merseyside buildings
Coastal and waterside buildings in Liverpool see more humidity in the air, so we look closely at moisture-resistant tiles and better-protected grid near entrances and wet areas. On the industrial estates around St Helens we fit ceilings in in-shed offices and welfare areas, using moisture-resistant tiles where washrooms and canteens need them.
Typical acoustic ceilings jobs we price in Merseyside include damp-prone rooms in coastal buildings, warehouse offices and welfare blocks, office floors being re-tiled between tenants. Merseyside is in the North West, around 73 miles from our Birmingham base on average.
What the job includes
- Healthcare acoustics to HTM 08-01 where specified
- Schools designed to Building Bulletin 93 targets
- Void barriers and over-lays where partitions stop at ceiling height
- Room-to-room attenuation (Dn,f,w) quoted in dB

Questions people ask
Do you cover all of Merseyside?
Yes. We take on acoustic ceilings across Merseyside, including Liverpool, St Helens and Birkenhead, and nearby areas such as Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Lancashire.
Will a ceiling cope with damp air near the coast at Liverpool?
In damp areas we use humidity-resistant tiles and better-protected grid, and check ventilation is doing its job.
What is the difference between NRC and αw?
Both describe sound absorption. NRC is an American average; αw is the European rating that gives the A–E class used on UK datasheets. Compare tiles using the same measure.
Can you just swap our tiles for acoustic ones?
Often yes. If the existing grid is sound and the right module, we can lay acoustic tiles into it, which is far cheaper than a new ceiling.
