MF plasterboard ceilings in Lincolnshire
We provide MF plasterboard ceilings throughout Lincolnshire, from Lincoln to Boston, for commercial, education and public buildings. An MF ceiling is a concealed steel framework of primary channels and furring sections, hung from the soffit and lined with plasterboard.
MF plasterboard ceilings for Lincolnshire buildings
For shops and retail units in Boston we programme ceilings around lease and opening dates, doing stockroom grids and shop-floor ceilings in one visit where possible. Lincoln has plenty of older buildings, where a new ceiling has to work around window heads and existing features, and where an asbestos survey is needed before stripping out anything installed before 2000.
Typical MF plasterboard ceilings jobs we price in Lincolnshire include shop units fitted out before opening, ceilings in older buildings with low window heads, classrooms refurbished in the holidays. Lincolnshire is in the East Midlands, around 72 miles from our Birmingham base on average.
What the job includes
- Shadow gaps and edge trims for a sharp perimeter
- Primary channels and furring sections at maker's centres
- Single or double layer plasterboard to the required rating
- Access panels planned to services before boarding
Questions people ask
Do you cover all of Lincolnshire?
Yes. We take on MF plasterboard ceilings across Lincolnshire, including Lincoln, Grantham and Boston, and nearby areas such as Nottinghamshire, Rutland and Derbyshire.
Can you work around our shop's opening hours in Grantham?
Yes. We can fit overnight or before opening, and phase the work so the shop floor keeps trading.
How long before an MF ceiling can be painted?
Once jointing compound or skim is fully dry. That is usually a few days, depending on temperature and ventilation.
Is an MF ceiling better than a grid ceiling?
Neither is better; they do different jobs. Grid ceilings are cheaper and keep the void accessible. MF looks cleaner and can be fire-rated, but you need access panels to reach anything above it.
